Instead of providing Americans with the relief they desperately need, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are holding unemployment insurance hostage in another attempt to pass unrelated items included in their far-left agenda — like checks for illegal immigrants, changes to election law, and marijuana banking.
Pelosi and Schumer’s latest scheme proves Democrats would rather play partisan political games than work on behalf of the American people and pass immediate relief for families and workers. When Senate Republicans simply wanted to extend the current benefits to ensure Americans remain covered, Schumer blocked their efforts.
Meanwhile, Axne and Finkenauer are once again doing nothing as their party bosses hold COVID relief hostage while they push for tax breaks for blue state billionaires.
Like Senator Grassley said, “Democrats have to realize that they’re going to have to start working for the American people and quit playing politics with this.”
Iowans will remember that Reps. Axne and Finkenauer stood by and watched as party bosses Pelosi and Schumer played political games with their livelihoods in the midst of a global health crisis.
