***This was one of the most popular stories of 2021 here at The Iowa Standard. We never received an update from DHS on her status.***

A woman called Laura Jordan posted Facebook Live videos where she discussed a “Let’s Go Brandon” sign that had seemingly triggered her. In her first video, she says:

“On my way to work, and I have the freedom to go to work just whenever, whenever I feel like it,” she said. “So, it’s Wednesday morning, on my way to work and on the corner of Beaver Avenue, Beaver and Lovington Drive, just over here by the intersection there was a sign that said ‘Let’s Go Brandon.’ And I drove for a few more blocks and I decided I’m not going to stand for that. Now, for those of you who don’t know, the phrase ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ is a white supremacist dog whistle. I’m not going to stand for that s*it. I went to the Walgreens on the corner and I bought myself a marker and like a box cutter and I came back and the sign is gone, fortunately. Um, but I will be having, I will keep all of the supplies in my car for the next Nazi racist that decides to try me cause I got time today. Anyway, black lives matter.”

After that, she reappeared.

“Well, well, well, our friend is back,” she said, then proceeding to hold up the ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ sign.

And shortly after that she detailed her actions.

“Our ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ friend put the sign back up so I went ahead and took it down and you’ll have to see my other live videos for that,” she said. “But I took my red marker, which didn’t work that well, but I wrote F Nazis on it. And I didn’t realize that my box cutter didn’t have the knife in it and I was too pumped full of adrenaline…I’ll have to set that up, I’ll be better prepared next time. But anyway, um, so if my little Nazi friend sees this, come at me bro, I got you.”

Tiara Mays ran for the school board in Johnston. She commented on at least one of the videos:

“You are so dope,” she wrote.

Some readers of The Iowa Standard have expressed concern that this Laura Jordan is the same as this Laura Jordan, who works for Iowa DHS according to LinkedIn.
