We have written about the book “Gender Queer” enough for our readers to know how disturbing the book is. The book is rated a 4 on ratedbooks.org. That rating means it has explicit sexual nudity with depictions of sexual organs in a state of arousal. There are also obscene references to sexual activities.

According to research done by Moms for Liberty, the book is in at least 10 Iowa school libraries:

Valley High School (in classroom)
Cedar Falls High School
Linn-Mar
Valley Southwoods
Urbandale
Carlisle
Thomas Jefferson Council Bluffs
Keokuk Senior High
Davenport Central
Dubuque High School

When The Iowa Standard published images from the book, Google flagged the images as adult sexual content and Facebook said it violates its community standards on sexual activity.

The following are samples of the book’s content, which is regularly defended by Democrats as belonging in Iowa’s public school libraries.

***WARNING: The following images are taken directly from a book readily available in Iowa school libraries and public libraries across Iowa. While these images are wholly inappropriate for children, we believe adults in denial as it relates to the obscenity of these books must see exactly what it is that is being discussed in order to make an adult decision. If adults still believe a book containing these images belongs in Iowa school libraries, then so be it. But at least they can’t say they didn’t know just how obscene theses books are.***

There is an Iowa House Government Oversight Committee hearing on sexually explicit, obscene materials in Iowa schools on Monday. If you wish to submit a public comment on the topic, click here.
