America First Works (AFW) applauds the Tennessee Legislature and Governor Bill Lee for the passage of the Protecting Children from Gender Mutilation Act. AFW Executive Director Ashley Hayek released the following statement in support of the bill:

“Tennessee has joined the growing list of states committed to protecting the youth against permanent, life-altering procedures on minor children. More than 75% of children do not carry gender dysmorphia with them into adulthood — so why are so many leftist government leaders opposed to waiting until adulthood to make these decisions? Governor Lee and the Tennessee Legislature asked this very question and came to the right conclusion. America First Works commends Governor Bill Lee, Senator Jack Johnson, and Representative William Lamberth for their commitment to our kids.”

America First Works is the 501c(4) advocacy arm of the America First Policy Institute. As an extension of AFPI, AFW is entirely focused on advancing policy at all levels of government, including promoting economic opportunity, school choice, immigration reform, affordable healthcare, foster care reform, election integrity, and promoting safe communities.
