Today was supposed to be a day where lawmakers would have their questions answered by Ames School District leaders.

Instead, they’ll have to continue to wait.

On Monday the district, which now has legal representation, informed lawmakers they were canceling.

Ames promoted its Black Lives Matter At School Week of Action heavily on its website and social media.

The week included a number of controversial topics.

The Iowa House Government Oversight Committee was scheduled to hold a hearing on the issue this morning, but that is postponed for now.
