The political violence has to end…
Yesterday, an “Anti-ICE” gunman opened fire at an ICE facility in Dallas, killing one person and injuring two others.
This horrific event follows a disturbing pattern of political violence in our country.
Just two weeks ago, we witnessed the assassination of Charlie Kirk in front of his friends and supporters. Charlie was a man of deep faith, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a fearless fighter for our freedom, murdered in front of his supporters.
This pattern of political violence tearing through our nation has to stop, and I feel it as deeply as you do.
I am praying for the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by today’s tragedy in Dallas, as well as the ongoing pain felt across our state and our country.
I urge each of you to stay safe, look out for one another, and join me in seeking peace during these dark times.
Our country is deeply divided, and we will never unlock our full potential for greatness if we resort to bullets instead of ballots, rage instead of reason.
I am committed to fostering an Iowa where faith unites us, freedoms are defended without fear, and differences are bridged through dialogue.
Let’s stand firm against hate and work toward an Iowa, and a nation, where safety and freedom are top priorities.
Charlie stood and acted in love against hate and it resulted in more hate guised as eliminating hate. We have to do whatever we can to serve our nation and countrymen but can any resolution be found short of the spiritual revival?
