The Ankeny Community School District presented Lauren Linge with an award at the Feb. 15 board meeting.
Linge was recognised for leading the “Gender Sexuality Alliance” at Southview Middle School.
In a curious wording, the district wrote:
“Linge was commended for their leadership in the Southview Middle School GSA, which aims to educate all about LGBTQ+ issues while providing a confidential and safe environment for students to support and empower the LGBTQ+ community.”
Linge, to our knowledge, is one person. Use of the word “their” seems a bit strange.
Their: belonging to or associated with the people or things previously mentioned or easily identified.
People: human beings in general.
Human beings: plural.
When one Facebook user commented that it goes against her religion and she doesn’t approve, she found out the appreciation of diversity disappears quickly from the Leftist tolerance crowd.
“Well, lucky for the rest of us, your religion does not dictate what happens in public school,” Natalie wrote. “Your comment goes against my religion. Do not approve.”
“I’m sorry your religion doesn’t teach you to love all of your brothers and sisters,” Jennifer wrote.
“Being inclusive and supportive is against your religion?” asked Drey.
“I can’t believe we live in a world where people like this still exist,” wrote Megan.
The comment was labeled “gross” and “unnecessary.”
The Facebook user who learned exactly how tolerant the Left is didn’t back down, though.
“Oh, we love. We don’t approve sin,” she said.
“At some point in your life you will love someone of LGBTQ+ status – you have destined yourself to that,” Rayne said.
And, the predictable “stfu. homophobic in 2021 smh,” post.
