Parents in the Ankeny School District are reporting time is being spent in class going over graphs involving COVID in the district. Some students are saying this is being done in every class.

“Our student test scores show that our children are already behind academically,” one parent told The Iowa Standard. “It is disappointing that valuable academic time is being spent to push one’s own belief or political agenda. I want my children to be taught HOW to think, not WHAT to think.”

Other images have been shared from classrooms throughout the day.

We will continue to share the images as we receive them. We will also provide anonymity for any students and parents who send these. They can be sent to [email protected].

We have reached out to the high school principal asking for comment. We will let you know what hear back from Peter Apple.
