Ankeny City Council Member Kelly Whiting has announced she will run for re-election to the Ankeny City Council on November 2, 2021.

“It’s been a great first term and I’m proud of the accomplishments we’ve made as a city. The Council has continually lowered the city tax levy every year I’ve been in office, bringing us to the lowest city tax rate of any major city in Polk County, and among the lowest major city tax rates in the state, all while maintaining outstanding services & public amenities,” Whiting responded, when asked about her 1st term in office.

Whiting continued, “In 2020, we learned the hard way that local elections matter. I stood up for the rights of citizens to use tax-payer funded amenities in the safest way possible and supported their right to make their own choices about what was best for them & their families.”

Whiting concluded, “All of us look for ways to make our community a better place, and over the last four years, I’ve enjoyed working hard with everyone in our community to make Ankeny a great place to call home.”
