Karine Jean-Pierre, the principal deputy press secretary, said on Sunday she tested positive for COVID after taking a PCR test.

Jean-Pierre just returned from President Joe Biden’s trip to Europe. She last saw Biden during a “socially distranced” meeting on Saturday.

“The President is not considered a close contact as defined by CDC guidance,” Jean-Pierre said. “I am sharing the news of my positive test today out of an abundance of transparency.

“Thanks to being fully vaccinated and boosted, I have only experienced mild symptoms.”
