LifeSite News reported that Samantha Wise was fired for refusing to take a COVID-19 vaccine.

Wise, who worked at Harvest Cannabis Dispensary in Arkansas, had her contract terminated on March 3.

She told a local news station that she didn’t think she’d really be fired even after the dispensary made the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for all employees.

Robbin Rahman, the executive director of Harvest Cannabis Dispensary, told Fox 16 there were additional factors in the termination.

Rahman admitted that the COVID-19 vaccine is a condition of continued employment.

“Harvest is a medical facility and many of its patients suffer from serious medical conditions and are considered ‘high risk,'” Rahman said.

Among the policies adopted by the dispensary, all employees, managers and owners must receive a COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of continued employment. However, Harvest said it would attempt to accommodate any employee who provided notice of a medical or religious basis for not receiving the vaccine.

According to an employment attorney in Arkansas, employers in the state can fire employees for not taking the vaccine unless there is a medical issue or religious belief involved.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has issued guidance that employers can mandate a COVID vaccine.

A bill that partially bans COVID-19 vaccine passports in Iowa — but discourages private businesses from utilizing them while allowing health care facilities to utilize them without any consequence — fails to address anything with regard to the employer/employee relationship.

Some Iowa House Republicans have maintained that employers cannot mandate the COVID-19 vaccine, but it is obviously happening in other states.
