Doing his best Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom — well, pretty much most Democrats — Storm Lake Times newspaper editor Art Cullen took part in a documentary premiere of the film “Storm Lake” in Algona at State 5 Theater.

And the film was not the only thing on display. A massive amount of mask-wearing hypocrisy filled the theater as well.

Let’s go back in time a bit…

Feb. 10, 2021:

I am sure there are many more posts we could share from February through August, but let’s fast forward a bit…

Aug. 19, 2021: “It may take children drying to get everyone to wear a face mask at a funeral — which I did not last week and realized I probably should have the moment I walked out.”

Yep. Art wrote it.

But wait, there was more!

“We have blown opportunities to snuff the virus: first, by avoiding a real lockdown in spring 2020, then by dodging masks and isolation…”

Again, probably plenty of material from late August to mid-September, but we will quickly fast forward a little further…

Sept. 17, 2021 (as in a few days ago): “Masking is a practical protocol that greatly diminishes the risk of transmission.”

Well, in Art’s defense, that was in the context of little school children, not liberal elites watching a documentary premiere!

Because at Art’s documentary premiere party, anything goes! It’s total anarchy. There are bare faces of all things!

The horror!

It is difficult to believe any of these people should ever be allowed to cite the CDC as an authority when the CDC guidance continues to be universal indoor masking for everyone regardless of vaccination status.

Or maybe that only applies to little kids in schools and not the elites attending documentary premieres.

Re-read those words Cullen offered in August.

“It may take children drying to get everyone to wear a face mask at a funeral — which I did not last week and realized I probably should have the moment I walked out.

“We have blown opportunities to snuff the virus: first, by avoiding a real lockdown in spring 2020, then by dodging masks and isolation…”

And, one more time, an encore from his premiere in Algona:

If you’re curious, the theater’s website “encourages” guests to wear masks/face coverings in all public/common areas. It also asks guests to practice safe distancing throughout the theater.

Well, at least they were able to choose whether or not they were muzzled for the entire thing. It’s too bad people like Cullen don’t believe others should be able to make the same choice.
