A contributing writer at The Atlantic called Tom Nichols had a pretty revealing tweet in terms of how he — and likely others in the mainstream media — view supporters of President Donald J. Trump.

Nichols wrote:

“A lot of folks noting that Trump’s performance tonight really emphasized how mentally ill he is. I get it, but if that ever mattered to 70+ million voters in the first place, we wouldn’t have had to suffer through the first failed peaceful transfer of power in U.S. history.”
