Glenn Beck delivered a deeply personal and urgent message at AmericaFest 2025 aimed squarely at a generation he said has been lied to, failed by institutions and falsely told they do not matter.
Beck opened his remarks by highlighting what he called the quiet courage of ordinary people, introducing conference attendee and famed Target employee Jeannie Beeman as an example of “normal” character in an age that increasingly rejects it. Beck said that what once would have been unremarkable is now celebrated because cultural expectations have shifted so dramatically.
“That is why you’re here,” Beck said, thanking her simply “for being normal.”
Beck abandoned his prepared remarks and instead spoke directly to the lived experience of younger Americans — those who grew up after Sept. 11, 2001, without memories of a pre–surveillance, pre–endless war America. He reminded the audience that many in the room were children during the 2008 financial collapse, when families lost homes and livelihoods while major banks were bailed out and executives faced no consequences.
“You did everything you were told to do,” Beck said. “And it didn’t work.”
Beck traced a pattern his generation has lived long enough to recognize: institutions repeatedly failing ordinary Americans, while demanding trust, compliance and silence in return. From Wall Street bailouts to COVID-era shutdowns that devastated small businesses while corporate chains thrived, Beck argued that young people have every reason to feel disillusioned.
“If I were 25, I would think absolutely everything is a lie,” Beck said.
But Beck rejected the idea that disillusionment should lead to despair or victimhood. Instead, he framed the moment as a call to responsibility.
“You are not crazy. You are not lazy. You are not imagining things,” he said. “The biggest lie you’ve been told is that you don’t matter.”
Beck noted that the rules have changed and promises have been broken, but he told the crowd that a broken system doesn’t erase human agency; it reveals who still has agency.
“Every single generation since the beginning of time has inherited a mess,” he said. “But only the great generations turn that mess into a mission. And that’s your calling. America was never built for comfort. It was built for people who believed they could shape their own destiny.”
Previous generations didn’t have it any easier than the current generation, but they did have an advantage.
“What they had that you don’t have is belief,” he said. “Belief in God. Belief in responsibility. A belief that there is a brighter tomorrow just over the horizon. They had that. You need that.”
Belief creates prosperity, Beck added.
“And you have been fed lies to keep you powerless,” he said. “And so many of your generation are following the natural path of somebody who believes they are powerless. You look to others to lead. You look for a leader. May I propose one? You. You are the leader.”
Each attendee has everything they need to be a leader.
“You hold every card you need,” he said. “Everything and more. You have your intellect. Your intellect. You can reason. You can learn. You’re living in a country that today is still free enough to where you can ask questions. And never stop asking questions, especially the uncomfortable questions.”
He said asking questions will guide one to find the truth.
“You don’t have truth given to you,” he said. “Don’t take anything I or anyone else on this stage says as gospel, because I’m not Jesus. None of us are. You find the truth yourself.”
Beck also told the attendees that they are here for a purpose by God.
“God doesn’t make excess people. You’re not excess,” he said. “You need to believe in yourself. You need to recognize the power that you have. You don’t need permission to begin a meaningful life.”
Compounding power is just the practice of small, consistent actions that beat institutions “every time” because skill compounds, Beck said. Charlie Kirk was a different and better person every time Beck met with him, he said.
“Reputation compounds. Integrity compounds. Intellect compounds,” he said. “Time is not on my side for compounding any of that anymore. But you have all the time you need to be far greater than anyone else you’re going to hear speak today.”
Attendees also have spiritual power.
“Meaning is not given by governments or markets,” Beck said. “Purpose precedes prosperity. If you exist, it means you’re needed. You are not born too late. You were born into this moment for a reason only you will find.”
Victims have never been asked by history to save it, Beck added. It also doesn’t ask comfortable people to save it.
“History asks capable people to save it,” he said. “You will discover, if you shake off the lie of victimhood, you will discover the glory of responsibility. When you take on responsibility, when you concentrate on responsibility, you will discover purpose. When you have purpose, cynicism falls away. And your life becomes a calling.”
