Today, Vice President Joe Biden announced his endorsement of Representative Cindy Axne for the upcoming election in Iowa’s Third Congressional District.

Vice President Biden touted Cindy Axne’s work for Iowans in times of crisis, like the COVID-19 pandemic and last year’s floods, in backing her re-election bid.

“Over the last two years, Iowans have been hit with some tough challenges. And, Cindy Axne has stood up for Iowa’s families and farmers: fighting to get better trade deals for farmers, securing critical relief for families impacted by flooding and the coronavirus pandemic, and working across the aisle to lower the cost of health care and protect people with pre-existing conditions. I’m proud to support her re-election campaign so that she can keep fighting for Iowans in Washington,” said Vice President Biden.

“Vice President Biden and I both know that across this country and right here in Iowa, people are enduring tough times. Between this public health crisis, economic downturn, and the lasting damage from a trade war, families across central and southwest Iowa have been resilient in facing these overlapping crises – and they need leaders in Washington that will fight for them,” said Cindy Axne. “I’m grateful to have the support of Vice President Biden, and look forward to advocating for the betterment of all Iowans with him at the ballot box this fall and through thoughtful governing in the years to come.”

Cindy Axne’s reelection campaign has received the endorsement of a wide range of advocates for Iowa’s families and communities.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced their endorsement of Cindy Axne.

Axne has also been endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters, Iowa AFL-CIO, EMILY’s List, NARAL Pro-Choice America, End Citizens United, and former President Barack Obama.
