President Joe Biden said on Thursday that the world is facing the prospect of “Armageddon” due to Russia’s threat of using tactical nuclear weapons or biological or chemical weapons in their war with Ukraine.

Biden made the comments Thursday night at a fundraiser.

“We have not faced the prospect of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missle Crisis,” Biden said.

He suggested Putin’s threat is real due to his military “significantly underperforming.”

According to the White House, his comments were intended to send a message that nobody should underestimate the danger if Russia deploys such weapons.

United States security officials continue to say they have zero evidence that Putin has imminent plans for a nuclear strike.
