An anti-Second Amendment group is planning to spend at least $1 million to help Democrats regain control of the Iowa House.

Republicans have already endured trouble when it comes to raising money for House races.

The GOP currently sits at 53 representatives. Democrats need to flip four seats in order to take control.

Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund is reportedly targeting 15 House races in the suburbs of Iowa’s major cities. It is the political partner of Everytown for Gun Safety. Michael Bloomberg co-founded the organization.

While Republicans haven’t delivered on everything pro-Second Amendment voters would like, the party has been able to advance a pro-gun policy.

One of the major prizes is the proposed constitutional amendment which inserts the right to keep and bear arms into the Iowa Constitution. That proposed amendment must pass the next general assembly before it can be put before Iowans for a vote.
