Kingsville Agents at the Javier Vega, Jr. checkpoint seize more than 100 pounds of cocaine over a five-day period.

On Wednesday, agents working at the checkpoint referred a sedan for secondary inspection after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted. During the secondary inspection, agents discovered more than 6 pounds of cocaine hidden in a compartment worth an estimated $208K. Border Patrol arrested the driver and turned the case over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Two days later, agents working at the checkpoint discovered more than 18 pounds of cocaine hidden inside a vehicle after a K-9 alerted to it. The contraband has an estimated value of $597K. Border Patrol arrested the driver and turned the case over to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

On Sunday, agents seized more than 80 pounds of cocaine, worth more than $2.5M, after they discovered several bundles of the narcotics hidden inside the vehicle. Homeland Security Investigations took custody of the subject and narcotics.
