Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrest a locally registered sex offender for illegally entering the United States .

Last night, Brownsville Border Patrol agents working near San Pedro, Texas, apprehended eight subjects near the Rio Grande.  One subject attempted to elude apprehension but was later arrested by agents working the area. Agents determined the subject was traveling with the eight individuals apprehended earlier that night.  During processing, criminal record checks revealed that the 40-year-old subject, later identified as Victor SANCHEZ-Garrido a citizen of Mexico, was previously arrested in 2008 by Alamo Police Department for sexual assault of a child. SANCHEZ-Garrido pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2009 for Indecency with a Child Sexual Contact, a 2nd degree felony. SANCHEZ-Garrido was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
