Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden’s Transportation Secretary, said there is “promise” to the idea that a “mileage tax” could be a way to fund a multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure plan proposed by Democrats.

It’s a potential plan to help pay for a plan that costs somewhere between $3 and $4 trillion. The mileage tax would also help offset individuals who are not paying the gas tax because they drive electric vehicles.

A mileage tax would clearly be a tax hike on the middle class and more proof that Democrats really don’t care about America’s workers or the country’s economy.
