State Sen. Jim Carlin announced he will be filing for U.S. Senate today. Carlin’s campaign said he collected more than 10,500 signatures.

“Carlin is an America First candidate with extensive experience in Iowa politics and an impressive conservative legislative record to back it up,” the release said. “From advancing the very first version of the Heartbeat bill that 14 other states went on to adopt, to medical freedom, to sound fiscal policies and more, Jim Carlin has earned his reputation of the freedom fighter who gets things done.”

Carlin’s campaign priorities include:
