The city of Cedar Rapids will require the public to wear masks again beginning today, July 18. This new requirements comes as the CDC updated its COVID-19 community level for Linn County to “high.”

The CDC recommends wearing masks indoors in public, staying up to date with COVID shots, getting tested if you have symptoms and additional precautions for those with high-risk for severe illness.

Masks will also be recommended on Cedar Rapids transit.

City employees will be required to wear masks in city buildings, vehicles and any other indoor locations while on-duty and in the presence of others.

In-person, indoor meetings will require all attendees to wear a mask, according to the city.
