White House officials said Monday they are still trying to determine how many Americans remain in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, drama has continued to unfold at the Kabul airport.

Reports state numerous Afghans and others attempted to hold on to the outside of an American plane as it left the airport.

Other footage shows at least one person falling hundreds of feet after the plane took off. The U.S. Embassy was totally evacuated as of Sunday evening, according to the State Department’s Ned Price.

U.S. soldiers deployed at the airport have been fired at and returned fire, killing two, according to John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesman.
