Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot took to Twitter on Tuesday to let her “friends” in the LGBTQ community know the Supreme Court is coming for them next.
“This moment has to be a call to arms,” said the mayor of the most dangerous city in America.
Lightfoot likely knows a thing or two about a call to arms. Here are a few recent headlines from Chicago:
Chicago Police Department memo cancels all officers’ days of over Memorial Day weekend (ABC 7)
Man shot and killed after picking up cake for mother’s day in West Pullman (NBC 5)
CHICAGO SHOOTINGS: 24 shot, 6 fatally, in weekend violence, CPD says (ABC 7)
Chicago’s top cop says violence is spreading to downtown as it declines in hardest-hit neighborhoods (Fox 32)
The violence starts as young as possible in Lightfoot’s uptopia. She said that Chicago will be an “oasis” in the abortion debate.
“We’ve seen a substantial increase already and we’re expecting frankly an explosion of new cases from women in Wisconsin, Missouri, potentially Michigan, Indiana,” she said. “I think the list is long and Chicago is going to be an oasis in the midwest and we’ve got to be ready.”
