Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot has been bold in telling residents to stay home. She made a PSA telling people to stay home and save lives.

“I’ve directed Superintendent Brown to order all police districts to give special attention to these parties. And this is how it’s gonna be. We will shut you down. We will cite you. And if we need to, we will arrest you and we will take you to jail…The time for educating people into compliance is over. Don’t be stupid. Don’t come out. Don’t advertise on social media. We’re watching you.”

But, as it turns out, those rules don’t apply to Lightfoot, who made a trip to her salon.

“We are trying to do the best that we can under difficult circumstances,” she said. “I am practicing social distancing. The woman who cut my hair had a mask and gloves on. So, we’re, I’m practicing what I’m preaching and making sure… I, as an elected official, and the public face of this city need to make sure that I am out there and visible through this crisis.”

Not a good look for the Chicago mayor.
