CNN’s Jake Tapper peppered Joe Biden and Kamala Harris with hard-hitting questions during his special interview with the Democrat nominees for President and Vice President.
Perhaps his toughest line of questioning was directed at Harris, when he pressed her on what exactly he should call her husband, Doug Emhoff.
“By the way, is he the second gentleman? Is he the second dude?” Tapper asked. “What should we — what should we be calling him?”
After some light laughter, Harris said the term has evolved into the “second gentleman.”
“The second gentleman, OK,” Tapper responded. “I like second dude, but I will defer.”
“Yes, I think some of his friends are inclined to say that,” Harris said.
“But you’ll call him the second gentleman?” Tapper inquired in his pursuit for a tough answer to a tough question.
“No, I will call him honey,” Harris replied.
Remember that time CNN engaged in some light banter with Mike Pence about his wife, Karen? Or when MSNBC playfully joked with President Trump about, well…anything?
Of course not.
The gag reflex is strong with this one, and it’s likely to only get worse during the next four years.
