House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer is applauding what he calls the “unprecedented transparency” of President Donald Trump’s administration following the public release of the president’s latest advanced imaging results by White House physician Dr. Sean Barbarella.

Comer said the openness shown by Trump and his medical team is a sharp departure from what Americans experienced under President Joe Biden — an administration he says concealed the former president’s declining condition while aides quietly exercised presidential authority behind closed doors.

“President Trump and his administration continue to be the most transparent administration in history,” Comer said. “This stands in sharp contrast to the Biden White House, where senior aides intervened in President Biden’s medical care and attempted to conceal his decline from the American people.”

Comer pointed directly to Democrats on the Oversight Committee — including Ranking Member Robert Garcia — who repeatedly insisted Biden was “sharp,” despite Americans seeing clear signs of deterioration.

“Our report on the Biden Autopen Presidency exposed the biggest political scandal in U.S. history,” Comer continued. “The Trump Administration is now taking action to bring accountability.”

The Oversight Committee recently released a bombshell staff report titled “The Biden Autopen Presidency: Decline, Delusion and Deception in the White House.”

The findings paint a troubling picture of a presidency effectively managed by unelected aides and political operatives as Biden’s mental and physical state worsened. According to the report, top advisors — including Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Annie Tomasini and Anthony Bernal — concealed Biden’s decline and facilitated executive actions without his direct authorization.

Among the most stunning claims: aides allegedly misused the presidential autopen to sign documents without Biden’s approval and failed to properly record key decision-making processes, raising serious constitutional and legal concerns.

In response to the committee’s findings, Comer has formally requested that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi open a comprehensive review of all executive actions taken during Biden’s presidency, including the role of aides who invoked the Fifth Amendment rather than answer questions from Congress.

Additionally, Comer has asked the D.C. Board of Medicine to investigate Dr. O’Connor for potential professional misconduct related to his handling of Biden’s medical care.

While the Biden team continues to face questions about secrecy, coordination and possible deception, the Trump Administration is leaning further into openness. By promptly releasing the president’s imaging results and addressing the public directly, Trump officials are underscoring a contrast Republicans say has been evident for years: one administration committed to transparency, and another engulfed in concealment and crisis management.

For Comer and GOP investigators, the stakes are high. The Oversight Committee’s findings raise questions not just about past decisions, but about the integrity of executive authority itself during the Biden presidency.

As Comer put it, the effort to restore accountability has only just begun.
