Congressman Steve King proves again that he is the “consistent conservative that has never let the voters of the 4th District down” in tonight’s 4th District Congressional Republican Primary Campaign Forum. The debate, the first to be held between the candidates vying to become the Republican nominee for the 4th District’s Congressional seat, was held over Zoom and was broadcast live on KDSN Radio. The forum featured a panel composed of representatives of KDSN Radio, the Crawford County Republican Women, and the Crawford County Republican Party Central Committee. The debate was moderated by J.C. Van Ginkel, co-owner of KDSN radio.

“I have said all along that I welcome the opportunity to debate my opponents. None of them have the depth of knowledge or experience on the critical issues that challenge us in the 4th District,” said King. “Further, these debates revealed something else that I have been saying: there is no legitimate rationale for my opponents’ campaigns except a desire for self-promotion. They don’t take issue with my conservative voting record or the success I have had getting projects like four-lane Highway 20 completed in the district. They simply saw an opportunity to side with the lying New York Times to use Fake News against me in a cynical attempt to try to advance their own political careers.”

“Anyone who watched or listened to the debate realized how much I continue to appreciate the honor to represent 4th District Iowans who know I do battle for our common values.,” King added. “That is one reason I emerged as the clear choice for 4th District voters who were reminded that I have always run to the sound of the guns and never let them down.”

All 5 of the candidates in the 4th District Republican Primary were invited to participate, and all 5 candidates did take part in tonight’s event.

The only publicly available polling shows that Congressman King maintains an overwhelming lead in the 4th District Primary field. A poll released by the King Campaign showed Congressman King earning the support of 59% of respondents, while his nearest competitor garnered only 15% support.
