From the email:

I’ve made gun safety my life’s work, and I want to talk to you about my friend Abby Finkenauer.

Abby grew up in a gun-owning home. She was taught to handle and respect firearms by her father. But she knows that not everyone has this same perspective.

That’s why in Congress, she’s worked to keep guns out of the hands of stalkers and domestic abusers by expanding background checks — all while preserving the rights of responsible gun owners, like her father.

And it’s with pride that GiffordsPAC endorses Abby Finkenauer. We need to reelect congresswomen like her to help keep our streets, schools, and neighborhoods safe. Can you chip in to her campaign and help keep her in Washington fighting for common-sense gun safety legislation?

We’ve seen too many American lives taken by gun violence. But the gun-safety movement is building momentum.

We can win this fight and save lives. We can bring commonsense changes to our nation to protect our children and families, while still allowing for responsible gun ownership.

But, we need allies like Abby. Elected officials committed to our cause, bold in action, and dedicated to protecting our communities.

So if you can, please contribute to her campaign today. We need to keep every gun safety champion working in Washington if we want to end the epidemic of gun violence.
