On Tuesday, October 14, Wendy Larson received the Republican Nomination for Iowa House District 7. Representative Mike Sexton resigned on September 19 to take a job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Governor Reynolds called for a Special Election on Tuesday, December 9 to fill the vacancy for House District 7. The district includes Sac, Pocahontas, and Calhoun Counties in addition to western portions of Webster County.

Wendy Larson earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Wendy Larson married her husband Chad in 2000. Chad is a native to Sac County and a fifth generation farmer. Together, Chad and Wendy have three children and reside in Odebolt. Wendy is a deaconess at Kiron Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Mobile Food Pantry.

Wendy is a strong Christian conservative and says she is running for Iowa House because she believes rural Iowa needs an effective and principled voice in Des Moines.

“I’m honored to be the Republican nominee for Iowa House District 7,” Larson said. “I feel called to serve, and I will work hard to earn every single vote between now and December 9. If the voters choose me, I will be a principled and fierce advocate for NW Iowa.”

Wendy Larson says her top priorities at the statehouse are protecting landowner rights, expanding medical freedom, strengthening Second Amendment rights, combating illegal immigration, and protecting our children from political indoctrination in K-12 schools and state universities.

Larson received the Republican Nomination for House District 7 at a special nominating convention on Tuesday, October 14 in Rockwell City. The Special Election will be held on Tuesday, December 9 and polls will be open from 7am – 8pm.
