Zach Dieken, Iowa State Representative for House District 5, which includes O’Brien and Osceola counties, half of Cherokee County and four townships in Buena Vista County, is announcing he will not be seeking reelection after his current term is finished at the end of 2026.
He has served for three years and is headed into his fourth and final year in Des Moines. Dieken has either introduced, helped sponsor or voted for bills pertaining to every issue he first campaigned for in 2022. Issues such as opposing the carbon capture pipeline, education freedom, the Second Amendment, supporting the nuclear family, smaller government, tax cuts and, most importantly, seeking to give equal protection and justice to unborn children. He’s introduced legislation to provide equal protection under the law for unborn children every year and plans to do so again this coming legislative session.
“Since getting elected in 2022, I never compromised my Christian convictions, I never kowtowed to our godless culture and I never took monetary bribes from lobbyist groups seeking political influence. I leave with my conscience clean and my soul intact.”
Dieken believes that courage, humility and conviction to serve your fellow citizen should be the standard for elected officials. People of principle who love what is true and good should be running for office to promote righteousness.

Dieken is thankful for the friends and connections he has made throughout the last four years and plans to continue to travel to Des Moines each legislative session to lobby for the abolishment of abortion in our state.
