Conversations with Conservatives is a group that meets in Spencer, Iowa the last Wednesday of every month, 6:30 PM at the Grand Avenue Community Outreach.

We have read the headlines and know that we can no longer allow others to direct our future, we must direct our own. We must once again learn the art of debate. We must learn to discuss our difference of opinions politely rather than allowing ourselves to be shouted down and threatened into acquiescence.

I remember a few things from college. One was from my Theology professor. He said “Why do you believe anything you cannot question?” Questioning things is the first step to learning.

Conversations with Conservatives offers a different speaker each week and then a time to discuss current issues. We must rebuild our country from the bottom up because top-down does not seem to be working.

Many of us have signed up to man the GOP booth at the Clay County Fair this next week. There will also be current lawmakers and ones running for office. Please come by to discuss your opinions.

We do hope to see you at our meetings. Come with your own individual perspective, come with information, come with a teachable spirit. Come and let us reason together.
