The Iowa Standard learned on Wednesday that a Coralville Hy-Vee store was hosting and “presenting” an all-ages drag show this Saturday, Sept. 24.
A flyer promoting “The Haus of Mauve Show” was shared on social media and included performers called “Spooky Santos” and “Princess Doma” and “Erotica Divine.”

One of the drag queens also shared the flyer from the event and wrote on Facebook:
“YALL!!!! So I’ve been keeping silent about this one. After properly introducing Tsereana, it’s time to properly introduce my girls! Princes Doma, Erotica Divine and yours truly are the Haus of Mauve and we’ll be debuting in our first show Saturday, Sept. 24! I want to give great big Thank You to Hy-Vee for the amazing opportunity. Let’s turn Hy-Vee upside down shall we? SHARE SHARE SHARE”
The Iowa Standard asked Hy-Vee about the show and was able to speak with Nick Haidar, the district store director.
Haidar said an employee came up with the idea and organized the event.
“Usually we want to support all employee ideas,” Haidar said. “As this event became bigger and it became a show and to take over the whole spot — we usually don’t do that at Hy-Vee. I’ve canceled it and I’m moving it to another location. It is no longer going to happen. It’s a show and I don’t have shows in my Market Grilles. It is there so everybody can enjoy the space.”
We asked if Hy-Vee was providing any funding for the event and Haidar said it is not.
One of the performers wrote:
“I can’t wait to show Hy-Vee what we can do! Time to twirl and serve in the name of family and fun. Coralville, you think you’re ready? You’re not. SHARE this so we can get the word out.”
Another wrote:
“Y’all really aren’t ready for this show. Wear a hat bc we will be snatching edges. Xoxo Erotica Divine”
As of two days ago, the performers were still planning on the event being at Hy-Vee. They haven’t posted any updates.
