More COVID-19 cases have popped up as result from Texas Democrats flying to Washington D.C. last week. A sixth Texas House Democrat tested positive along with a White House official and an aide to Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The aide to Pelosi is said to have been “fully vaccinated” but tested positive after contact with members of the Texas state legislature last week.
Texas Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer was pictured talking with Pelosi last week. He confirmed on Sunday he tested positive for the virus.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed on Tuesday a White House official tested positive as well.
Donna Howard, another Texas representative, said she tested positive despite following CDC guidelines and being fully vaccinated.
The Texas Democrats were made famous with their plane photo op in which none of them have masks on, in defiance of federal rules requiring masks on flights entering, leaving or within the United States.
Psaki refused to call the event a “superspreader” event on Tuesday.
