Creighton University President Rev. Daniel Hendrickson published a message to campus on Sept. 15. The message addressed “systemic racism, prejudices and privileges.”
Creighton, Hendrickson wrote, is aiming to create a more intentionally “inclusive” and “just” environment. It also aims to “develop a culture that embraces anti-racism and addresses issues of systemic racism that are so woven into our nation’s historic fabric and continue to unjustly affect Black Americans today.”
Creighton University African American Student Association (CUASA) sponsored a “Die-In Demonstration for Black Lives” on Sept. 16.
Students, faculty and staff were invited to sign up online to represent a victim of police brutality or racial violence.
The document also lists many other efforts at the Jesuit, Catholic institution.
