DEM DEBATE: Yang says if Americans are given $1,000 a month from government, more people of color would be on debate stage

Andrew Yang is not the traditional Presidential candidate. It’s not often candidates spray whip cream into the mouths of supporters.

But at last week’s debate, Yang was asked about being the only person of color on the debate stage. He said part of the reason is money.

“Fewer than 5 percent of Americans donate to political campaigns,” he said. “You know what you need to donate to political campaigns? Disposable income.”

He said in order to fix it, the government should give a freedom dividend of $1,000 a month. And if they did that, he wouldn’t be the only candidate of color on the debate stage.
