Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam announced new coronavirus restrictions and urged Christians to refrain from attending church services during the Christmas season.

This year, we need to think about what is truly the most important thing. Is it the worship or the building? For me, God is wherever you are. You don’t have to sit in the church pew for God to hear your prayers.

What is the most important thing? God or man? Gov. Northam has no business commenting about God. His policies on abortion are godless. His comments about God, worship, and prayer would carry some weight if he wasn’t indifferent to the least of those created in God’s image—helpless unborn children who are sanctuaried in their mother’s womb.

The topic of abortion has become an absolute dividing line in today’s political wars. The Democrat Party believes a woman should have the legal right to kill her unborn baby anytime up to the child’s birth and beyond. A new Virginia law includes the following that would permit an unborn baby to be aborted, if “the continuation of the pregnancy is likely to result in the death of the woman or impair the mental or physical health of the woman.” All a woman would have to do is declare that her mental health is impaired if she delivers her baby alive. That’s a slippery slope loophole if there ever was one.

The “mental health” loophole was enacted when Ronald Reagan was governor of California. It was a loophole that a truck could be driven through.

Northam, a former pediatric neurologist who took an oath to “do no harm,” when asked what would happen if a disabled baby survived the abortion attempt, said the following:

The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother. (Quoted in Devan Cole, “Virginia governor faces backlash over comments supporting late-term abortion bill” (January 31, 2019): https://cnn.it/34Fht9Y)

According to Northam’s logic, a baby is not a human being until the mother imputes human being status to him or her. What about at six months, ten months, or a year after birth? He is so blind that he can make moral judgments like this while at the same time claim “God is wherever you are.” That means God is with pregnant mothers, doctors, and governors.

Joe Biden had promised to defend abortion rights as “women’s healthcare.” Consider the following interview with the editorial board at The New York Times in January 2020 when he was asked what he would look for in a Supreme Court nominee:

[T]hey have to … acknowledge the unenumerated rights and a right to privacy in the Constitution, and the “penumbra” [laws that don’t actually appear in the Constitution] and the Ninth Amendment, then in fact that means I know they will, in fact, support Roe v. Wade. They’ll support a woman’s right to choose….That is critical. I’ve written about it extensively. I’ve written law review articles about it. I’ve presided over more judges and more Supreme Court nominees than anybody else has. Look at the people I supported. When I defeated [Robert] Bork [as a Supreme Court Justice in 1987], I was able to provide a woman’s right for a generation because had he won, it would have been over. (Quoted in Laura Echevarria, “Joe Biden: My Supreme Court Judges Will Support a “Right” to Kill Babies in Abortions” (Sept. 11, 2020) Emphasis added: https://bit.ly/35vzaJC)

The right to choose what? The right for a woman to choose to kill her unborn child. Any time you hear someone defend killing an unborn child, always ask, “The right to choose what?” Make them say it: Choose to kill her unborn child!

These pro-abortion archons (rulers) are in the dehumanizing business. First, it’s the unborn, then it’s the handicapped, then it’s people of a different color, then it’s people of a particular nationality, then it’s those who disagree with you. Consider this veiled threat against Trump supporters by Michigan State Rep. Cynthia Johnson (D-MI):

“So this is just a warning to you Trumpers: Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain’t playing with you,” Johnson, who recently was reelected in Detroit with 93.4 percent of the vote, said. “Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it,” she said ominously.

“Do it right,” Johnson ordered. “Be in order. Make them pay.” (Breitbart)

Similar threats have been made by other Democrats. For example, “David Atkins, a newly elected California member of the Democratic National Committee, declared recently that Democrats and liberals should ‘start thinking in terms of post-WWII Germany or Japan’ in order to ‘deprogram 75 million people.’” The 75 million number refers to those who voted for Trump.

You might think this is hyperbole. “No seriously…how do you deprogram 75 million people? Where do you start? Fox? Facebook?” Facebook and Google/YouTube are trying to deprogram people by eliminating contrary opinions from their platforms.

What will be the end result of such proposals when even more radical archons rise to the political top?

The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made;
In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught (Psalm 9:15).

Once the dehumanizing starts, it gets more difficult to know where to draw the line.
