Black Lives Matter paraded through the streets of Des Moines on Tuesday night. The demonstrators were advocating for abolishing ICE and freeing everyone in detention centers.
One of the individuals who streamed the protest said the demonstrators are marching to abolish ICE and to “free everyone in detention centers, cages, around the country.”
Chants ranged from topic to topic.
“Say it once, say it twice. We will not put up with ICE.”
“The people, united, will never be divided.”
“1-2-3-4 open up the prison door. 5-6-7-8 we don’t want no prison state.”
“Cops and borders, we don’t need ’em. What we want is total freedom.”
The streamer of the event said that ICE is a “trafficking” organization that trafficks people who are not from this country.
