Iowa House Minority Leader Rep. Jennifer Konfrst was part of a panel at an event hosted by the Center for American Progress. The event was called “Project 2025: Exposing the Far-Right Assault on America.”
Konfrst was asked how liberals can help conservative and moderate Americans who might find some of the ideas in Project 2025 appealing understand how it is harmful to their everyday lives.
Konfrst claimed if individuals look at states and see the devastating impacts, they’ll realize Project 2025 is not “everyday conservatism” or “country-club conservatism,” but “far-right extremism.”
“We are seeing women die, we are seeing people leave the states, we are seeing devastating impacts,” she said. “Extrapolate that to the entire country and that’s Project 2025.”
We reached out to Konfrst to ask about the context of the quote and where she is seeing women die in Iowa as a result of the goals of Project 2025. We will publish her response when we receive one.
