GLBT Youth In Iowa Schools Task Force (Iowa Safe Schools) hosted Rep. Chris Hall for a conversation on Facebook earlier this week. Damian Thompson, the public policy director for GLBT Youth In Iowa Schools Task Force, asked Hall who is favorite drag queen is.

Thompson worked in Gov. Kim Reynolds’ office prior to his time at GLBT Youth In Iowa Schools Task Force as he oversaw constituent outreach and planned special events. He also interned for Congressman David Young previously.

Hall said he had a heads up the question on drag queens was going to be asked and prepared an answer.

“I can’t say that I’m well tuned into the drag circuit that I really have any fan favorites or queens that I’ve been following over the years,” Hall said.

He then announced that, after some research, he picked Bob the Drag Queen.

“The reason for that, I know very little if anything about Bob, but in her own words, Bob is a queen for the people and I think that’s what we need right now,” Hall said.

Hall also discussed his favorite gay icon during the interview.

Hall currently does not have an opponent in his election for the House District 13 seat. It isn’t too late, however.

The Woodbury County Republican Central Committee would simply just have to call a convention to put someone on the ballot to run as a Republican.
