Democrat State Rep. Brian Meyer has been expressing his frustrations freely on social media after Wednesday’s protest at the United States Capitol.

So much so that he said on Sunday night he’d be taking a break from social media.

“Been pretty amped up about the Grassley-Ernst terrorist sedition riots,” he wrote. “Catch you on the flippity flop.”

On Wednesday, Meyer said the Republican Party of Iowa “condones this treason” in reference to the Capitol protest.

“Every single elected Republican I know loves Donald Trump,” he said. “They have enabled him and these thugs. Honestly, they are OK with replacing the U.S. flag with a Trump flag.”

That post received other responses from legislators.

“It is not an assumption,” said Democrat Rep. Dave Jacoby. “Look at last four years.”

Republican State Rep. Jon Thorup also entered the discussion.

“Have you polled all of us,” he asked. “I am not OK with the U.S. flag being replaced by any other flag. That includes the Trump flag. There should be a ton of arrests from yesterday’s events.”

Meyer noted that Trump will not leave.

“Why is anyone surprised,” he wrote. “You know who is to blame? Chuck Grassley. Joni Ernst. And anyone who enabled this moron.”

Meyer commented that it is “treason.”

“(Trump) encouraged a takeover of the government,” he wrote.

Meyer has been even more brutal on Twitter.

“Ashley Hinson, Chuck Grassley, Joni Ernst, Jeff Kaufmann you caused this,” he wrote on one post.

“Chuck Grassley, Ashley Hinson, Joni Ernst you guys allowed this to happen. And then ran away scared. Resign,” he added on another.

Meyer continued to blame Hinson, telling her “this is your fault, these are your people.”

He called Kaufmann a “moron.”

Meyer also blamed Grassley, replying to a Grassley tweet about a show on the History Channel.

“You caused this,” Meyer wrote with a picture attached.

After Grassley tweeted condolences for Brian Sicknick, the Capitol cop who died, Meyer asked “who was the mob supporting? This is on you, idiot.”

“And I’m sure his family really cares what you think. He is dead. His death is because you have enabled a dictator while you ran and hid.”
