A new Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey released last week revealed major Democrat support for President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 mandate.

Forty-eight percent of voters said they favor Biden’s plan. Thirty-three percent strongly favored the mandate.

Forty-eight percent of voters also said they oppose the mandate, with 40 percent who strongly oppose the plan.

A similar split exists when it comes to Dr. Anthony Fauci. Forty-five percent have a favorable view of Fauci, including 28 percent who have a very favorable view. However, 48 percent have an unfavorable view, including 34 percent with a very unfavorable view of him.

Seventy-eight percent of Democrat voters support Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Just 22 percent of Republicans agree. Forty-one percent of unaffiliated voters are also on board.

Many Democrats said they’d support harsher measures, including fines, for Americans who won’t get the vaccine. They’d even support criminal punishment for vaccine critics.

Fifty-five percent of Democrat voters would support federal or state governments fining unvaccinated Americans. Fifty-nine percent of Democrat voters would favor government policy requiring citizens remain confined to their homes at all times if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Forty-eight percent of Democrat voters think federal and state government should be able to fine or imprison those who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID vaccines on social media, TV, radio or in online or digital publications.

Forty-five percent of Democrats would favor governments requiring citizens to temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Forty-seven percent of Democrats support a government tracking program for those who do not get vaccinated.

Twenty-nine percent of Democrats said they would support temporarily removing parents’ custody of their children if a parent refuses to take the vaccine.

Biden’s strongest supporters are most likely to endorse the harshest punishments against the unvaccinated.
