The infamous Dr. Anthony Fauci made the rounds on Sunday morning news shows yesterday. Fauci told ABC viewers people should continue wearing masks in conjunction with vaccines and boosters instead of in place of them.
Earlier in the week Fauci said those who are vaccinated should feel comfortable traveling and celebrating holidays with their family. Jonathan Karl asked if he still believed that to be true.
Fauci said he does, and that those who are vaccinated and boosted should be “prudent” when traveling.
“When you are in an airport, to be wearing a mask all the time,” he said. “You have to be wearing a mask on a plane. Do not do things like go to gatherings where there are people who you do not know what their vaccination status is.”

Fauci said some people are going the extra step of getting tested when people will come over to the house.
“You might want to do that,” he said. “If you do these things, I do believe that you can feel quite comfortable with a family setting — the dinners and the gatherings that you have around the holiday season. Nothing is 100 percent risk-free, but I think if you do the things that I just mentioned, you’d actually mitigate that risk enough to feel comfortable about being able to enjoy the holiday.”
He also said that Americans shouldn’t look at the vaccine and mask situation as an “either/or.”
“You can do both and should do both,” he said.
When asked if he thought Americans would be able to fly again without masks, Fauci simply said:
“No, I don’t think so.”
