This weekend, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) kicked off her sixth 99 County Tour, carrying on her annual tradition of visiting every single one of Iowa’s 99 counties each calendar year. The Senator made visits to Montgomery, Adams, and Madison Counties.
“The start of the new year also means the beginning of another 99 County Tour!” said Senator Joni Ernst. “There’s no better way to represent Iowa than to be out meeting and hearing from Iowans in all of our communities, which is why this annual tradition is so important to me. I’m excited to be back on the road and visiting directly with Iowans from every county in our state, receiving input about the issues top of mind for them, and continuing to fight relentlessly for the people of Iowa.”
Senator Ernst began her 99 County Tour for 2020 on Saturday morning by hosting an agriculture roundtable in Montgomery County, where she took questions from and held a discussion with farmers from across southwest Iowa.
Senator Ernst then visited Adams County where she met with the members of Fostering Hope of Southwest Iowa in Corning, which carries and provides clothes, supplies, and other resources for foster families.
In Madison County, Senator Ernst toured a number of small businesses in Winterset and spoke directly with business owners and workers about what has helped make their shops successful. The Senator stopped at a local restaurant, a pharmacy, and other local stores.
