U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), the Chairman of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Subcommittee on Rural Development and Energy, today applauded the lifting of the 232 steel and aluminum tariffs, highlighting its benefit for Iowa’s farmers and equipment manufacturers. Now that the tariffs have been lifted, Senator Ernst expressed her hope that Speaker Pelosi will bring up the U.S.-Mexico-Canada agreement for a vote in the House of Representatives.

Senator Ernst also stressed the urgent need for Congress to reach a bipartisan agreement by the end of this week to provide disaster relief to Iowa families and communities that have been impacted by the flooding.
