U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a combat veteran and the ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities (ETC), is joining more than a dozen Senators in forcefully condemning the attacks against Israel by Hamas—an Iranian-backed and funded terrorist organization—and reaffirming the United States’ unwavering commitment to our ally Israel and its right to take whatever means are necessary to stop the murder of its citizens and foreign nationals residing in Israel.

“Hamas is a deadly terrorist organization whose stated goal is the destruction of Israel, one of our strongest allies and the only democracy in the Middle East,” said Senator Joni Ernst. “Attacks on Israel and Israeli cities, towns and civilian centers at the hands of these terrorists cannot be tolerated. The United States must be clear: we stand with Israel and support their right to defend themselves.”

Ernst is helping introduce a Senate resolution, led by Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.), that has the endorsement of the Republican Jewish Coalition and the Zionist Organization of America.
