Sen. Joni Ernst’s campaign is hitting Democrat challenger Theresa Greenfield for the support she has received from coastal liberals, dark money groups and special interest groups.

Some of the top-10 spenders benefitting Greenfield include Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and End Citizens United.

As of Oct. 12, outside Super PACs had spent more than $38.7 million in support of Greenfield AND $102.5 million in opposition to Ernst — the third most of any federal race.

“While Theresa Greenfield pretends to be against special interest money, she’s hypocritically benefitting from more than $100 million in ads from coastal liberals,” said Ernst spokesperson Melissa Deatsch. “Greenfield’s radical supporters are trying to buy Greenfield Iowa’s Senate seat for her birthday because she’d be a rubber stamp on their reckless agenda that would hurt Iowa’s ag economy and our very way of life.”
