Former Congressman Steve King on Thursday night officially endorsed Zach Lahn for Governor of Iowa during a high-energy event in Altoona attended by a packed crowd of supporters.
King praised Lahn as the candidate best positioned to fight for Iowa families, defend Iowa values, and bring bold leadership back to the Governor’s office.
“I know all the other candidates. Consider some of them friends, but this race is about saving our state and giving us the best chance to win in November. And there is only one conservative who has momentum. There’s one conservative that’s got the resources to fight this out. There’s one candidate who has vision like no other candidate for governor I have ever seen, who is full of fantastic ideas, and talking about our health and the cancer crisis. That man is Zach Lahn and I’m proud to support him to be the next governor of Iowa,” said King. “Zach is the man to do the job. He will put Iowa first, protect our kids and he will beat Rob Sand.”
Lahn thanked King for his support and told the crowd the campaign is building momentum across every corner of Iowa.
“Steve was my congressman growing up. When I say it is an honor to have earned his endorsement, I truly mean it. He is a man with a spine and unafraid to stand up for what he believes in,” said Zach Lahn. “This race is about whether Iowa belongs to its people or to the special interests and outsiders cashing in on our state. We’re going to protect our farms, restore our schools, keep our kids here, and fight like every single day for Iowa families.”
The endorsement comes as the Lahn campaign kicked off its statewide Iowa’s Kids Tour, and on the heels of a million-dollar ad buy behind its new ad, Freedom.
