Theresa Greenfield, who skipped out on the first debate in the race of U.S. Senate earlier this week, was a top executive with Rottlund Homes when the company was sued for $29 million due to outstanding debt from Bank of America.

Rottlund Homes was also sued for failing to pay $48,937 in unpaid rent. Neither Greenfield nor any of her employees showed up for court either.

Homeowners in Polk County sued Rottlund Homes for fraud, negligence and breaking contracts.

“As a top executive of Rottlund Homes, former real estate executive Theresa Greenfield’s company was sued for $29 million in outstanding debt, which followed numerous lawsuits from homeowners in Polk County,” said Joni Ernst spokesperson Melissa Deatsch.  “With a pattern of being sued and not paying her debts, how could anyone trust Greenfield to look out for them?”
