The Iowa Department of Natural Resources issued guidelines for an upcoming Trump boat parade at Twin Lakes State Park that organizers said they have agreed to.

Among the guidelines:

*boats shall not be tethered together
*boats must stay at least six feet apart at all times
*large gatherings on land will not be allowed
*hand sanitizer shall be encouraged to be on board each boat
*hands should be washed prior to and after boarding a boat
*coughs and sneezes should be covered, touching of eyes, noses or mouths should be avoided
*wear a mask when in public off your boat
*masks are encouraged in public settings when around people who do not live in your household (per CDC)

Americans out on the water expressing their First Amendment rights can do whatever they please in my book in terms of following these guidelines.

However, why have these same guidelines not been in place for the many “peaceful protests” across the state?
